What is Promise #1?

The very first policy priority listed in Project 2025 is:

“Restore the family as the centerpiece of American life and protect our children.”

What follows is not about supporting families—it is a detailed plan to erase transgender people from public life and criminalize those who support us.

This isn’t buried deep in the document. This is Promise Number One.
That should terrify every trans person—and everyone who cares about civil rights.

Step 1: Erase Trans Identity from Every Level of Government

“The next conservative President must make the institutions of American civil society hard targets for woke culture warriors. This starts with deleting the terms sexual orientation and gender identity (‘SOGI’), diversity, equity, and inclusion (‘DEI’), gender, gender equality, gender equity, gender awareness, gender-sensitive…”

Translation: Transgender people are not to be acknowledged—anywhere.
This would wipe us out of:

  • Civil rights protections
  • Education policy
  • Federal healthcare programs
  • Public documents and data collection

When a group is no longer recognized by law, it becomes easy to treat them as illegal.

Step 2: Redefine Trans Affirmation as Pornography

“Pornography, manifested today in the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology and sexualization of children… has no claim to First Amendment protection.”

Translation: Affirming trans identity is not free speech—it is criminal obscenity.

By redefining support for transgender people as “pornography,” Project 2025 lays the legal groundwork to:

  • Censor all trans-affirming materials from schools, libraries, and online platforms
  • Treat parents, doctors, and educators as criminal actors
  • Classify gender support as a threat to public morality and child safety

Step 3: Imprison Those Who Support Trans People

“Its purveyors are child predators… Educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders.”

Translation: Teaching or providing materials about transgender identity = sex offense.

Under this logic:

  • School librarians could be placed on sex offender registries
  • Teachers could be prosecuted
  • Parents of trans youth could lose custody
  • Doctors could face prison time

This isn’t hypothetical—it is explicitly spelled out in the Heritage Foundation’s plan.

Step 4: Link Trans Identity to Addiction and Crime

“Their product is as addictive as any illicit drug and as psychologically destructive as any crime.”

➡ Trans identity isn’t just being labeled immoral—it’s being equated with drugs and criminal behavior.

This opens the door to:

  • Detainment and rehabilitation programs
  • Surveillance of gender-nonconforming youth
  • Institutionalization of trans people under “public safety” grounds

This is how internment starts—not with a single camp, but with a campaign of criminalization.

Why Promise #1 Should Alarm Every American

When the first item on a national policy agenda calls for:

  • Erasure of identity
  • Criminalization of education
  • Imprisonment of allies
  • Redefinition of personhood as deviance

…it’s not about family. It’s about fascism.

Just like Executive Order 9066 led to Japanese internment camps under “national security,” Project 2025 sets the stage to systematically detain, silence, and punish transgender people under the guise of protecting children and culture.

What We Must Do

This is not a fringe idea—it’s the leading plan from the Heritage Foundation, and it is being actively implemented by Trump’s allies through executive orders and policy changes. Trump’s campaign, cabinet picks, and legal framework are already aligning with this vision.

We need:

  • Local sanctuary policies that block cooperation with any federal enforcement
  • Laws protecting speech, care, and access for trans people
  • A clear, national message: We see what this is, and we won’t let it happen again

Promise #1 of Project 2025 is not about protecting families—it’s about destroying ours.
